Welcome to AES! My name is Joanna Fullingim and I am thrilled to be entering my first year as Principal of Abernathy Elementary! I graduated from Texas Tech University with a Bachelor's of Science and a Master's in Education. This is my 18th year in education and my 1st year as principal. I was the elementary assistant principal for 3 years, counselor for 5 years, and I taught in the classroom for 9 years.
My husband, Austin, grew up in Petersburg and we moved back to west Texas in 2012. We have three girls: Evie (10), Ellis (6), and Emersyn (3). They definitely keep us busy and on our toes!
At AES, our goal is to create an environment where students feel loved, cared for, and are LEARNING! Without the first two, the last is much more difficult. Please know that we are here to serve our families and students the best we can. Always feel free to contact me with questions or concerns.
