Hello and welcome to Mrs. Sullivan's page! I have an Early Childhood Education degree from Texas Tech University. I feel so blessed to be able to teach in Abernathy. We have the best students, families, teachers and administration! I love teaching but most of all I love kids! They make me smile and make everyday new and exciting. I have had the privilege of teaching kindergarten in Abernathy for 16 years. I am married to Marcus Sullivan and I have two children, Samantha and Nathan. Samantha is a recent graduate of Abernathy High School and is heading off to Texas Tech. Nathan is a Junior at Abernathy and he is involved in football, baseball, powerlifting, track, FFA, Band and NHS. We worship together at First Baptist Church in Abernathy and are active in school and community activities! We love our Lopes!
In Kindergarten, we try to make learning fun! Each year we learn to read, write letters, words, and sentences, make crafts, count and learn numbers, patterns, simple addition and subtraction as well as science and social studies concepts. As you can see, we learn a lot as five and six year olds! One of my favorite things about kindergarten is we get to have hands on learning and we sing songs to help us learn.
We celebrate birthdays throughout the year, have a Halloween party, Thanksgiving Feast, Christmas Party, Valentine Party, and Easter Egg Hunt. We celebrate the completion of kindergarten with a graduation and awards ceremony.
