At Abernathy Elementary, we strive to live up to the strong traditions and legacy Abernathy ISD is all about! Some of our favorite mottos are, "Leaders are Readers!" and here at AES we "Work Hard, Play Hard!"
The high expectations we hold for our students are designed to help them become lifelong learners. I believe knowledge is power and we are in the business of empowering students! Our school community strives to live by our school pledge each day, “Choose the Way, the Antelope Way!” In life, we make choices every day. We believe it is our responsibility to ensure every child be prepared to have the opportunity to further their education after high-school if they choose. Our hallways are lined with university banners and student work providing evidence of this commitment. We serve approximately 375 students, PK-5th grade. Our Pledge: We are a school committed to do WHATEVER IT TAKES to achieve academic, social, and emotional success in each student. Our Goal: Every student, without exception and without excuse, will be proficient or advanced in reading, writing, math, science, and character AND the school will do whatever it takes to make that happen.
We consider our parents very important members of our school community and respect them as their children’s primary educators. We firmly believe that when the school and the home work closely together for the sake of our children, we all win! Parents can stay connected by partnering with the classroom teachers, attending our Parent University opportunities, and also following our district page on facebook.
Whatever it takes!
