Principal's Message

Welcome to AES! My name is Jenci Chambers and I am thrilled to be entering my first year as Principal of Abernathy Elementary! In my one short year spent here as Assistant Principal, I have already grown to love the families of this school and community.  I have been closely acquainted here all of my life and have always had a special place in my heart for this small town. I love the traditions and culture that make up AISD and Abernathy!

My husband, Ezra, is a 1997 graduate of Abernathy High School and currently serves as AHS Principal.  We have four children: Chance (21) attends Texas Tech University and is majoring in Social Work. Chanie (16) is a junior at AHS and is involved in cross country, basketball, softball, and track.  Charlee (15) is a sophomore and has found her passion in FFA, as well as track and basketball. Chip (13) is a 7th grader at AMS and is excited for all opportunities that 7th grade brings across the board.

At AES, our goal is to create an environment where students feel loved, cared for, and are LEARNING!  Without the first two, the last is much more difficult. Please know that we are here to serve our families and students the best we can.  Always feel free to contact me with questions or concerns.

As we do every morning with our students, I will end with this, “Every day you have the chance to make choices.  Let’s choose the way, the Antelope Way. Have a DREAM BIG day and DO GOOD TOGETHER!”
